PRIVATE PRACTICE GROUP, The The Pathologist will join a growing, successful private
practice group serving several hospitals in northern suburbs of Our Client Founded in 1992, this growing, private practice group of five pathologists serves 3 hospitals and several surgical centers, imaging centers and endoscopy facilities in the area as well as physician offices. With a total of 21 employees, the practice has earned a
reputation for high quality diagnostic services, excellent working relationships
with clinical colleagues, and as valued and active members in the medical
community of each hospital they serve. In
addition, the practice is supported by experienced technicians and a capable
administrator. Annual surgical case volume is approximately 22,000 specimens and 10 autopsies annually. The Position and the Candidate The Pathologist must have excellent clinical skills and enjoy frequent interaction with clinicians. The right candidate will be one who is well organized and who uses dedicated administrative time to stay on top of cases, participate in quality assurance activities, assume a portion of the medical director responsibilities of the affiliated clinical laboratories, and be visible on hospital committees. Active participation in professional societies/associations is encouraged. As a member of the practice, a candidate will be expected to cultivate friendly and effective working relationships with the senior physicians and administrators at facilities served. A candidate can expect a reasonable workload of frozen sections, surgicals, non-gyn cytologic specimens and a 1 in 5 on-call rotation. The working environment is congenial and collegial.
